Essentials

  1. Casio F91W
    • I recently got this and it’s become one of my favorite purchases. It has such practical application to my everyday life. I’ve been timing everything — dinner, getting ready in the morning, waiting in line — to get a better idea of how long things take me. The F91W is so cheap and durable, solving your problems without becoming a liability.
  2. T-shirt
    • I’m not adventurous at all with fashion, but I like at the very least to be minimal. A high quality t-shirt is so versatile and goes with anything. They last for a long time and having one in white, navy, and black does the job.
  3. Kindle
    • The Kindle goes with me everywhere, though I don’t use it as much as I’d like to. I think this is the best piece of technology in the world. It’s the Library of Alexandria at your finger tips. I have many books on it I’ve never read, but they are at least there for when I’m curious.
  4. Sleep mask
    • I’ve invested a lot of money into trying to improve my sleep with a temperature controlled mattress and a sleep tracking device, but this mask I recently purchased has the best per dollar ROI. With this mask, my sleep latency is low and I never have to worry about light coming in.
  5. Earplugs
    • These are excellent to block out noise and focus in on the task at hand. I don’t listen to music much and especially not when working, so these are an affordable but practical solution for concentration. These are also great for reading, meditation, and other activities where even low sounds can be disturbing.
  6. Shaving kit
    • Shaving has always felt annoying and laborious, but I recently purchased a few shaving products, namely a razor, a lather brush and shaving soap in a bowl, that have completely changed my perspective. Now, I look forward to my weekly shave & enjoy it thoroughly. You can get great value for your dollar in buying shaving products and they last for a long time.
  7. Sneakers
    • I’ve looked all over for the perfect pair of sneakers that are versatile, youthful, timeless, and of good quality, and I think I have found them in these German army trainers. After breaking in, they have become my most comfortable pair of sneakers and are suitable for any occasion.
  8. Notebook
    • I think notebooks are so excellent, especially in the modern world. There are so many distractions and life can be incredibly busy and stimulating that its nice to put your thoughts onto paper and transcribe how you feel and what’s going on in your life. There’s pressure to journal every day, to do it for a certain period of time or in a certain way, but this all is getting you to the same destination. That you are doing it is far more important than how you are doing it; I don’t stress about writing full paragraphs or even sentences.
