Don’t Convince Others

Don’t waste a moment of effort trying to get others to subscribe to your beliefs, and feel no obligation to explain what you think. Most people have their mind made up already, whether through experience or through the impression of understanding, so they aren’t available or interested in what you have to say. For the ones who are are open-minded, you’ll then have to spend more time trying to change their opinion.

Beliefs are hard to change because they rest on individual experience. Ultimately, a lasting change in belief means a change in experience, something you can’t control — so don’t bother in the first place.
